Occluded Front
A weather front formed when a faster-moving cold front catches up with a slower warm front, lifting the warm air between them off the ground.
Occlusion typically marks the mature, later stage of a low-pressure system, and can bring a mix of the rain associated with both a cold front and a warm front in quick succession. Once fully occluded, a storm system often begins to weaken, since the warm air that had been fuelling it is lifted away from the surface rather than continuing to feed the system directly.
