Practical weather notes for Dhaka

Dhaka sits in the vast delta formed by the Ganges, Brahmaputra and Meghna rivers, one of the wettest major cities in the world during the monsoon. From June to September, heavy daily rainfall is normal rather than exceptional, and low-lying areas can experience regular waterlogging.

Seasons in Dhaka

The dry season, from November to February, is markedly different: rainfall becomes rare, humidity drops, and daytime temperatures are noticeably more comfortable than the intense heat and humidity of the pre-monsoon months in April and May.

Frequently asked questions

How often is the forecast updated?
The live weather data refreshes several times a day, so you're always seeing the latest forecast for Dhaka.

Is the 14-day forecast reliable?
The first few days are usually the most accurate. Further ahead, the forecast mainly shows a trend rather than the exact weather at a specific hour.

What should I check before heading outside?
Look at the combination of rain, wind and feels-like temperature. A short trip can handle a passing shower, but a longer walk or bike ride benefits from a more stable stretch of weather.
