How far ahead is the weekend forecast reliable?

From Wednesday or Thursday the forecast for the weekend is usually quite reliable. Earlier in the week it mostly shows a trend: whether the weekend is likely to be warm or cool, wet or dry. Check again on Friday for the details, and look at the hourly forecast on the day itself to plan around a passing shower.
